Food Security & Livelihoods

HADI supports vulnerable communities to meet immediate food needs while building sustainable livelihoods. Through unconditional cash transfers, food vouchers and agricultural inputs. We help families access food, restart production and restore income sources. Our approach strengthens resilience and supports a transition toward self-reliance and long-term stability.

HADI delivers life-saving shelter support and essential non-food items to families affected by conflict, displacement and natural disasters. By providing safe shelter, household essentials and emergency relief, we help protect lives, restore dignity and create a foundation for recovery. Our interventions are designed to support the most vulnerable communities, enabling them to rebuild with safety, stability and resilience.

Empowering Minorities and Marginalized communities

At Horn of Africa Relief and Development Initiatives (HADI), we are committed to reaching those who are too often left behind, minority groups and marginalized communities who face systemic barriers to accessing essential services. Across Somalia, inequalities linked to social status, geography, displacement and vulnerability often limit access to lifesaving support. HADI addresses these gaps through an integrated humanitarian approach, delivering assistance across multiple sectors, including health, nutrition, WASH, protection, food security, education and shelter. This ensures that marginalized populations receive comprehensive, dignified and equitable support. Our work is grounded in inclusion, participation and respect for human rights. We actively engage communities to understand their unique needs and co-design solutions that are contextually appropriate and sustainable. We prioritize amplifying the voices of minorities, women, elders, disabilities and other underrepresented groups, ensuring they are not only beneficiaries, but active participants in decision-making processes that affect their lives. At the same time, we promote non-discrimination, safeguarding, and accountability across all our programs to create safe and respectful environments for all.  With your partnership, we can bridge inequalities, strengthen resilience and empower marginalized communities to rebuild their lives with dignity, ensuring no one is left behind across all areas of humanitarian response.

OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCOUNTABILITY AND QUALITY

At Horn of Africa Relief and Development Initiatives (HADI), our commitment to accountability and quality is guided by the principles of the Core Humanitarian Standard Alliance (CHS), ensuring that our assistances are relevant, effective and centered on the dignity of the people we serve.

Accountability to affected populations (AAP) remains central to our approach. We establish safe, accessible, and confidential feedback and complaints mechanisms, enabling communities to raise concerns, influence programming, and hold us accountable. We ensure that all feedback is taken seriously and informs our decision-making processes.

HADI upholds the highest standards of transparency and responsible resource management, ensuring that donor funds are used efficiently and ethically to maximize impact. Our staff and partners are trained, supported, and held to clear codes of conduct, reinforcing professionalism and safeguarding across all operations.

By aligning our work with CHS, we not only meet global humanitarian standards, we strengthen trust with communities and partners, and ensure that every intervention delivers quality, accountability and lasting impact.
